Kenya President William Ruto has begun a two-day State Visit to South Africa, where Kenya and South Africa signed six agreements aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding trade opportunities.
Speaking after talks with President Cyril Ramaphosa at the Union Buildings in Pretoria, Ruto said the agreements cover shipping and maritime affairs, gender equality, technical and vocational training, arts and culture, as well as sports and recreation.
“These agreements are aimed at elevating our partnership, building on the existing strong foundation of cooperation we have nurtured over the past three decades,” Ruto said.
The President noted that Kenya and South Africa remain committed to leveraging the African Continental Free Trade Area to unlock new markets, attract investment and accelerate inclusive economic growth.
Ruto also lauded South Africa’s manufacturing sector, describing it as a strong example of Africa’s industrial potential and a key partner in advancing economic transformation across the continent.
