Leaders allied to William Ruto have hit back at former President Uhuru Kenyatta, urging him to retire from active politics ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking during a youth empowerment programme in Narok South, the leaders defended President Ruto’s leadership and called for respect for democratic choices.
Farouk Kibet, an aide to the President, criticised Kenyatta’s remarks.
“If you were elected and have now retired, respect the will of Kenyans and step back,” he said.
Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu also urged the former Head of State to avoid ethnic politics.
“When you were President, we respected you… respect Ruto as he was elected by all Kenyans,” he said.
The leaders maintained that Kenyatta should focus on retirement while allowing the current administrat
ion to govern.
