Nollywood actress and producer, Bimbo Ademoye, has dismissed claims that she uses emotional displays as a strategy to promote her films.
The reaction follows criticism from social media users after she shared an emotional video ahead of the release of her latest film on YouTube.
“Don’t do that. Am I supposed to be battling people over stealing my film title and thumbnail?”
Ademoye said the suggestion undermines the effort and resources invested in her productions, noting that she organises professional shoots and pays for promotional materials.
“I have people who sacrifice their time and energy for me. Nobody sleeps. So you now think the way I would promote my film is to cry?”
She added that she has handled several production challenges privately without seeking public sympathy, despite facing setbacks that affected her output.
“I am a very strong woman; I don’t need pity.”
The actress maintained that using emotions to promote her work would diminish the value of her efforts and urged critics to be mindful of th
eir assumptions.
