The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Kwara State, Abbas Nda Mohammed, has ordered intensified 24-hour surveillance across the state, warning that criminals will find no safe haven.
He made this known during a media briefing in Ilorin on Wednesday, where he outlined a tougher, intelligence-led approach to tackling insecurity.
“Crime will not be tolerated in any form. Kwara State will not be a safe haven for criminal elements,” he said.
In a statement issued by the Civil Defence Public Relations Officer, Kwara State Command, Ayoola Michael Shola, the Commandant directed all tactical units to increase patrols in vulnerable and strategic areas to boost response and deter criminal activities.
He said the command will rely on intelligence gathering and community engagement to strengthen security operations.
Abbas also stressed the need for collaboration with other security agencies, traditional institutions, and community leaders to address emerging threats.
“We will continue to deepen collaboration to tackle evolving security challenges,” he added.
He assured residents of the command’s commitment to professionalism and effective service delivery in protecting lives and critical
infrastructure.
