NIGERIA: Army Buries Brigadier-General, Soldiers Killed in Borno Attack

The Nigerian Army has buried a Brigadier-General and other soldiers killed in a recent terrorist attack in Borno State.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Nigerian Army on its official X handle on, Wednesday.
The deceased officer, Oseni Braimah, who was killed in Benisheikh, Kaga Local Government Area, was laid to rest on Wednesday at the Maimalari Cantonment Cemetery in Maiduguri.
He was buried alongside Captain Azubuike Michael Esimai and other soldiers who died during the attack.
The Army said the burial ceremony was marked by “deep sorrow, honour and reflection” as the fallen officers were given full military honours.
“Their sacrifice serves as a poignant reminder of the heavy price paid daily by members of the Armed Forces to safeguard the peace, unity and security of Nigeria,” the statement said.
The ceremony was attended by Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, Chief of Defence Staff Christopher Musa, Chief of Army Staff Olufemi Oluyede, and other senior military officers.
They paid tribute to the courage and dedication of the fallen soldiers, describing them as heroes who died in t
he line of duty.
