MALAWI: Mukhito to Open SADC Corrections and Prisons Conference in Salima

Minister of Homeland Security Peter Mukhito is expected to preside over the opening of the SADC Heads of Corrections, Prisons and Penitentiaries Conference in Salima this morning.
The conference is being hosted by the Malawi Prison Service under the theme: “Pathways to Change: Facilitating Effective Rehabilitation and Reintegration in Corrections.”
The regional gathering is expected to bring together leaders of correctional services from across the Southern African Development Community to discuss rehabilitation, reintegration, and reforms within correctional institutions.
Delegates are also expected to exchange ideas and experiences aimed at improving prison management and strengthening rehabilitation programmes for inmates across the
region.
