The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State have publicly declared an end to their long-standing political differences, pledging to work together in the interest of peace and development in the state.
Both leaders made the remarks on Thursday night during an interview with President Bola Tinubu’s official videographer, Sunday Moses.
Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, stated that the political disagreements between him and Fubara had been resolved.
“We have all agreed to work together. Everything is over. We are members of the same political family. As humans, we have disagreements. We also have time to settle the disagreements. There is no more acrimony. Everything is over. It’s a day we have to thank the Almighty,” Wike said.
In his own remarks, Governor Fubara underscored the importance of lasting peace in the state.
“It’s important that this day has come. What we need in Rivers is peace. We shall do everything in our power to sustain peace in Rivers State,” Fubara said.
