The Nigeria-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) has announced the appointment of Professor Ogechi Adeola, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Kigali, as its new International Trade Adviser.
This appointment, disclosed on the Chamber’s official LinkedIn page, underscores the organization’s commitment to leveraging exceptional expertise to strengthen trade and investment ties between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
Highlighting Professor Adeola’s robust credentials, the NBCC noted her remarkable contributions to academia and her extensive experience in the corporate and consultancy sectors.
A key aspect of her profile is her advisory role with the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), where she is actively engaged in the African Sub-Sovereign Governments Network initiative.
This initiative focuses on fostering collaboration among sub-sovereign governments to enhance intra-African trade and investment under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) framework.
Additionally, Professor Adeola has served as a National Consultant for the International Labour Organisation (ILO), where she contributed to advancing women’s entrepreneurship and economic empowerment in Nigeria. Her efforts in promoting gender equality and inclusivity have earned her accolades in policy and development circles.
Expressing her gratitude for the recognition, Professor Adeola stated, “Thank you, Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce, for this recognition and the trust placed in me. I look forward to working closely with the Chamber and its members to strengthen bilateral relations and drive impactful initiatives. Together, we can achieve great milestones in promoting business growth and collaboration.”
The NBCC, as a leading bilateral trade chamber, continues to play a pivotal role in facilitating business opportunities between Nigeria and Britain. The organization is currently preparing for its 2025 Trade Mission to the United Kingdom, an event expected to further enhance economic partnerships and business collaboration.
