KENYA: Finance Bill 2026 Passes as MPs Back Government’s Tax Plan in Key Parliamentary Vote

The National Assembly in Kenya has passed the Finance Bill 2026 after its Third Reading, paving the way for President William Ruto’s assent.
The Bill sailed through with 122 MPs voting in support against 40 opposed, with no abstentions recorded.
The legislation now awaits presidential approval before becoming law, setting the stage for the implementation of the government’s proposed tax and revenue measures for the 2026/27 financial year.
