NIGERIA: Kwara Governor Donates N60m To Fallen Soldiers’ Families, N5m To Injured, Cautions Public on Troop Movements

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has cautioned residents against disclosing information about troop movements, warning that such actions could endanger security personnel and undermine counterterrorism operations.
The governor gave the warning during a visit to soldiers injured in a recent bandits’ ambush, where he noted that attackers often rely on intelligence allegedly supplied by informants within the public.
In a statement made available to African Culture Television senior reporter in Ilorin by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Government House Mashood Abdulrafiu Agboola on Tuesday describing the act as sabotaging the effort of our ministry operations.
AbdulRazaq urged citizens to support security agencies, emphasizing that personnel are making significant sacrifices to safeguard lives and property.
During the visit, the governor was received by the Commander of the 22 Armoured Brigade, Nigerian Army, Sobi, Brigadier General Nicholas Nemetne Rume, and the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Prof. Abdullah Dasilva Yussuf.
He expressed condolences to the families of the three soldiers who lost their lives in the attack and announced financial support of N20 million for each family, totaling N60 million.
The Governor also approved N5 million each for the three injured soldiers receiving treatment.
“We are here to visit the soldiers who were ambushed by bandits. Unfortunately, we lost three of them, while three others are currently receiving treatment. We pray for the departed and support their families,” the governor said.
He commended the bravery and dedication of security operatives, noting that their sacrifices underscore the risks they face daily in protecting the nation.
The governor called on Nigerians to collaborate with security agencies, stressing that collective effort is crucial in the fight against banditry and terrorism.
