By Deborah Akur Chol, South Sudan
The South Sudanese parliament has deferred a scheduled meeting focused on the country’s territory and boundaries with neighbouring nations, citing inadequate information from ministers as the primary reason.
In a statement, Clerk to the Assembly Makuc Makuc Ngong announced, “The session has been postponed until further notice due to the unavailability of comprehensive reports and other related matters.”
The ministers who were expected to present their reports included those from Presidential Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Defence and Veterans Affairs, National Security, Interior, Justice and Constitutional Affairs, and Land, Housing and Urban Development.
Additionally, the session was set to include contributions from the chairpersons of the Joint Sudan South Sudan Border Commission and the Joint Technical C
ommittee.
