The Oyo State Government has approved the constitution of the 3rd Assembly of the Oyo State Youth Parliament, in a renewed effort to strengthen youth participation in governance across the state.
The approval was announced by the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development under the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde.
“The Oyo State Government, under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde FNSE, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, has graciously approved the constitution of the 3rd assembly of Oyo State Youth Parliament,” the agency stated.
According to the agency, applicants must be Nigerian citizens and indigenes of Oyo State between the ages of 15 and 29, and must possess a minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or its equivalent. Candidates are also expected to demonstrate “a passion for youth issues and leadership.”
The eligibility criteria further stipulate that applicants must have no criminal record, must not belong to any secret cult, and must maintain “a clean record from illicit drug use.” They are also required to present a Local Government Identification Certificate and a birth certificate, with sworn affidavits not accepted.
Registration is strictly online via the agency’s official portal at stateagencyforyouthdevelopment.com.ng.
“All interested applicants must register via the agency’s website and fill out the form accordingly,” the statement noted.
After completing online registration, applicants are required to print their forms and submit them alongside supporting documents within two weeks, scheduled from April 14 to April 28, 2026.
“Submitted online data should be printed out along with the attached required documents, and submitted not later than 2 weeks… to the office of the Chairman, Oyo State Agency for Youth Development,” the agency added.
Submissions will be received at the office of the Chairman, Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, located at the basement of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, State Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
