Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has ruled out any changes to the second-term school calendar, saying learning will continue as scheduled despite recent cases of unrest reported in some secondary schools.
Ogamba noted that only 204 senior schools have reported incidents, while 98 per cent of learning institutions across the country remain stable and operational.
“The school calendar will remain unchanged. The vast majority of our schools are stable, and learning is progressing normally,” said Ogamba.
The CS warned that those involved in arson and destruction of school property will face firm action, even as the Ministry moves to establish a multi-stakeholder team to investigate the causes of unrest and recommend long-term solutions.
He also urged school heads to address emerging concerns promptly and called on parents to use the half-term break to instil discipline and responsible behaviour among learners.
