KENYA: Linda Mwananchi Questions Ruto’s Tanzania Visit … Says It Lacks Benefit For Kenyans
By Moses Punyuah, Nairobi
The Linda Mwananchi faction has criticised William Ruto’s state visit to Tanzania, arguing it lacks clear benefits for Kenya.
In a statement, the group claimed the visit risks, creating the perception that Kenya is endorsing a government they allege does not uphold democratic principles.
“By addressing the Tanzanian parliament, Ruto risks placing Kenya’s stamp of legitimacy on a contested electoral process,” the faction said.
They further argued that the timing of the visit is inappropriate, citing concerns over human rights issues raised during Tanzania’s 2025 elections.
The remarks come amid ongoing debate over Kenya’s foreign policy posture in the
region.
