The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), through its Kaduna Zonal Directorate, has arrested 40 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in the Bida and Minna areas of Niger State.
According to the commission’s report posted on its official X handle, the suspects were apprehended following credible intelligence linking them to various online fraudulent activities.
During the operation, EFCC operatives recovered several items from the suspects, including three cars, 10 motorcycles, eight laptops, 60 Android phones, four Bluetooth speakers, eight power-generating sets, one Hisense air conditioner, and two power stabilizers.
Also seized were various fetish items believed to be used for rituals. These included three calabashes decorated with feathers, locally made soap and sponge, a bottle of alcoholic beverage, 20 cowries, a waist bead, and four pairs of women’s underwear.
The EFCC stated that the suspects will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.
