The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the South West has called on the Federal Government to take immediate steps to alleviate the hardships facing Nigerians, citing widespread economic challenges that have left many struggling to make ends meet.
In a Christmas message issued on Wednesday in Ado Ekiti, Sanya Atofarati, the PDP Southwest Publicity Secretary, extended warm greetings to Nigerians while expressing concern over the harsh realities of daily life under the current administration.
“As we celebrate this season of love and hope, we must not lose sight of the deep economic difficulties plaguing our nation,” Atofarati said.
“The policies of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have unfortunately placed unbearable burdens on Nigerians, pushing many further into hardship instead of bringing relief,” he added.
Atofarati emphasised that the PDP remains committed to advocating for a Nigeria where the welfare of citizens is prioritized.
He urged the Federal Government to implement policies that address the growing inequalities and challenges faced by ordinary Nigerians.
“Christmas is a time to reflect on our collective humanity and the values of unity, love, and compassion,” he said.
“We urge the government to embrace these values by addressing the economic pains inflicted on the masses and creating an environment that fosters growth and prosperity for all,” he added.
Despite the tough times, Atofarati encouraged Nigerians not to lose hope, stressing that resilience and unity would pave the way for a better future.
He called on citizens to support one another and continue striving for a nation where every individual can live with dignity and opportunity.
“We stand in solidarity with every Nigerian who is struggling in this difficult time,” he said.
“Let the spirit of Christmas inspire us to build a better, more equitable Nigeria together,” he emphasized.
The message concluded with an optimistic note, urging Nigerians to embrace the festive season with joy and to look forward to a brighter and more prosperous 2025.
