The National Oil Company of Malawi (NOCMA) has announced that its efforts to stabilise fuel availability in the country are yielding positive results.
According to NOCMA Spokesperson, Raymond Likambale, a significant fuel supply has been procured and is en route to Malawi.
He noted that currently, trucks are being loaded at the port of Beira in Mozambique, while a train carrying diesel is on its way from the port of Nacala to the Matindi Fuel Depot in Blantyre, expected to arrive tomorrow.
Additionally, “trucks carrying petrol and diesel are on their way from Tanzania” he said.
These developments come at a critical time, as Malawi has been facing fuel shortages that have severely impacted various sectors.
The arrival of this fuel supply is expected to alleviate the current shortage and restore normalcy to the affected sectors.
