President Chakwera Vows to End Child Marriage And Promote Girls’ Education

Malawian President, Lazarus Chakwera has made a resolute pledge to eradicate child marriage in Malawi, ensuring no girl under 18 is forced into marriage.
Speaking at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe during a state banquet for visiting Indian President Droupadi Murmu, Chakwera emphasised his commitment to protecting young girls’ rights.
Chakwera further promised that during his term, he will tirelessly work to guarantee every Malawian girl’s access to quality education, empowering them to become influential women.
Chakwera’s dedication to social change is evident in his call for leaders to make sacrifices for the country’s progress.
He urged Malawians to endure challenges and not give up on the fight for change, emphasising leaders’ roles in training people to endure and setting examples.
The president’s commitment to education and social reform is crucial in addressing Malawi’s social woes. By prioritizing girls’ education and ending child marriage, Chakwera aims to create a brighter future for Malawi’s youth.
