By Balogun Arisekola Azeez, Ilorin, Kwara State.
The Kwara State Governor and the Chairman of the Nigeria Governor Forum, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle affecting political appointees across his administration.
According to a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Mashood AbdulRafiu Agboola, the reshuffle affects all Special Advisers, Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and Special Assistants.
African Culture Television also gathered that the exercise also affected the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor.
The state government explained that the decision is aimed at creating opportunities for more members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to serve in government while injecting fresh energy into the administration.
Governor AbdulRazaq expressed appreciation to all the affected appointees for their dedication and contributions to the development of Kwara State during their tenure in office.
“His Excellency expresses his gratitude to all the appointees for their priceless service to the state. He wishes them the best in their future endeavours,” the statement read.
The Governor also directed all affected appointees to hand over all government properties in their possession to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) without delay.
The development marks another phase in the administration’s efforts to reposition government for improved service delivery as it continues to implement its development agenda across the state.
