NIGERIA: Alexx Ekubo’s Family Confirms Actor Died From Advanced Kidney Cancer

Alexx Ekubo has died after what his family described as a brief but courageous battle with advanced metastatic kidney cancer.

The family announced his passing in a statement shared on the deceased official IG page on Wednesday, saying the actor died at Evercare Hospital due to complications arising from the illness.

The family wrote; “Alexx passed away at Evercare Hospital due to complications arising from advanced metastatic kidney cancer.”

According to the statement, he faced the illness with strength and faith throughout his treatment.

“Throughout this difficult journey, he bore his pain with remarkable strength, unwavering faith, and enduring hope,” the family added.

Since news of his death emerged on Tuesday, tributes have continued to pour in across Instagram and X, with colleagues, fans, and public figures mourning the loss.

Several figures in Nollywood shared condolence messages and paid tribute to the actor, remembering him for his work on screen and his relationships within the industry.

The family asked for privacy and prayers as they mourn his passing.
