JUST IN: PDP Clears Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan For 2027 Kogi Central Senatorial Race
By Onoja Baba, Nigeria
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the incumbent Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, has been successfully screened and cleared by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to contest the 2027 senatorial election.
The senator announced this development on Wednesday after participating in the PDP screening exercise held in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.
She said she arrived fully prepared with all required credentials and supporting documents, and expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the screening.
“This marks a renewed mandate for quality representation, purposeful leadership, and continued service to the people,” Akpoti-Uduaghan stated.
The outspoken lawmaker, who is seeking re-election on the PDP platform, described her aspiration as driven by “love, service, and commitment to the people of Kogi Central.”
Her clearance sets the stage for what is expected to be a keenly contested primary as she faces potential challengers within the party, including former Governor Yahaya Bello, who recently picked up the APC nomination form for the same sen
atorial seat.
