Applicants with scheduled interviews have been advised to check their email or AVITS account for details on rescheduled dates.
While visa operations at the U.S. Embassy in Abuja remain temporarily affected, services at the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos continue uninterrupted.
American Citizen Services (ACS) are still available in emergencies and by appointment only.
The closure is part of precautionary measures to ensure the safety of staff and visitors amid potential disruptions in the capital.
Affected visa applicants are encouraged to regularly monitor their email and the embassy’s official website for further updates on new appointme
