NIGERIA: Plateau State Government Imposes 48-Hour Curfew In Jos North Following Deadly Attack

The Plateau State Government has imposed an immediate 48-hour curfew on Jos North Local Government Area following a tragic security incident that claimed several lives and left many others injured.
The curfew, which takes effect from 12 midnight on Sunday, was announced by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Joyce Lohya Ramnap.
The restriction came after an unprovoked attack on innocent citizens at Gari Ya Waye community in Angwan Rukuba area of Jos North on Sunday.
In a statement, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang strongly condemned the “barbaric and unprovoked attack,” describing it as unacceptable.
He assured residents that the government is taking all necessary measures to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
The statement urged citizens to remain calm, stay vigilant, and cooperate fully with security agencies by providing any useful information that could aid ongoing investigations.
Residents of Jos North have been advised to stay indoors during the curfew period while security agencies work to restore normalcy and prevent further violence in the area.
The attack has heightened tension in Jos North, a community that has witnessed recurring violence in recent years.
