SOUTH SUDAN: Over 44,000 Candidates Begin Secondary School Exams As Leaders Urge Integrity

More than 44,000 candidates across South Sudan have begun sitting for the 2025 Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) examinations, marking one of the country’s largest nationwide academic exercises.
Josephine Lagu Yanga, Vice President for the Service Cluster, highlighted the scale of this year’s participation as thousands of students settled into examination halls across all states.
“This year, the Examination Council has registered a significant number of candidates. We have 44,364 students from 510 schools sitting their examinations in 349 centers nationwide,” Lagu said during the official bell-ringing ceremony in Juba on Monday.
She urged all stakeholders to uphold honesty and protect the integrity of the examination process.
