By Moses Punyuah, Nairobi Kenya.
Kenya’s First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto has reaffirmed her commitment to women’s empowerment as she marked 16 years of the Joyful Women Organisation (JOYWO), a milestone celebrating resilience, unity, faith, and economic transformation among women across the country.
The celebrations, held on 27th November 2025 at Kasarani Stadium, brought together thousands of JOYWO members and were graced by President William Ruto, expressing the organisation’s national impact.
In her address, the First Lady delivered a powerful call to action, saying:
“If you have succeeded, lift another woman.”
She emphasised that JOYWO’s 16-year journey reflects the strength of women working together to build financial freedom through table banking, entrepreneurship, and community support systems.
President Ruto lauded the First Lady’s sustained efforts to empower women, noting JOYWO’s role in supporting households, expanding financial inclusion, and strengthening grassroots economic networks.
The Kasarani event is the latest chapter in Mama Rachel Ruto’s ongoing mission to uplift women, promote economic independence, and build stronger communities across all 47 counties.
