The Nigerian Army has announced the release of the list of successful candidates shortlisted for the Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 49/2026 Selection Board.

Candidates are directed to check their status immediately on the official recruitment portal at https://recruitment.army.mil.ng.
All shortlisted applicants are required to report to the Nigerian Defence Academy Ribadu Campus (Old Site) in Kaduna State on Sunday, 1 December 2025, between 6:00 am and 11:00 am. The Army warned that any candidate arriving after 11:00 am will be automatically disqualified.
The selection exercise, scheduled from 1 to 19 December 2025, will include verification of credentials, physical fitness tests, medical examinations, academic assessments and oral interviews.
Candidates must come with original copies and at least two photocopies of all academic certificates, NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, birth certificate or age declaration, certificate of state of origin, BVN certificate, NIN slip, and completed printouts from the SSCC portal, among other documents.
Additional items required include writing materials, three pairs of blue shorts and white T-shirts, white canvas shoes, toiletries, beddings, cutlery, recent photographs, and scratch cards for result verification.
The Army emphasised strict compliance with rules, stating that personal vehicles are prohibited, visitors will not be allowed, and any form of indiscipline will lead to immediate disqualification.
Candidates are also required to present a duly signed Letter of Consent from their parent or guardian, attested at a court of law.
The Nigerian Army stated that accommodation and feeding will be provided throughout the exercise, but candidates are responsible for their transportation to and from Kaduna.
Due to the military nature of the exercise, the Army clarified it will not be liable for any injuries or deaths that may occur during the selection process.
