In a tense African Cup of Nations qualifier, Nigeria’s Super Eagles were held to a goalless draw by the Amavubi of Rwanda on Tuesday.
Despite coming off a commanding 3-0 victory over Benin Republic just days ago, Austin Eguavoen’s side struggled to find the back of the net in Kigali, with several missed opportunities and a standout performance from the Rwandan goalkeeper frustrating their efforts.
The Super Eagles’ profligacy in front of goal combined with the resilience of Rwanda’s defense resulted in a 0-0 stalemate, leaving Nigeria with four points from their opening two games in the qualifying round.
