World Leaders Mourn The Passing Of Former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga

Tributes continue to pour in from across the globe following the death of former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga, who passed away on Wednesday morning while undergoing treatment in Kochi, India, aged 80.

President William Ruto today visited the Odinga family home in Nairobi to personally condole with Mama Ida Odinga and the bereaved family and is expected to address the Nation.
Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema expressed deep sorrow, calling Odinga a “towering advocate for democracy whose legacy will endure.”

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi mourned the loss of his “dear friend,” recalling their long association since his days as Chief Minister of Gujarat. Modi praised Odinga’s affection for India and his efforts to strengthen bilateral relations, adding that “he particularly admired Ayurveda and traditional medicine systems.”
In Tanzania, President Samia Suluhu Hassan sent heartfelt condolences to the people of Kenya, describing Odinga as “a visionary leader, a Pan-Africanist, and a peace lover whose influence extended beyond Kenya to the entire African continent.’

The African Union Commission Chairperson, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, also paid tribute, terming Raila “a steadfast champion of democracy, good governance, and people-centred development.”
As the world mourns, messages of sympathy continue to flow in, reflecting the immense impact Raila Odinga had both at home and across Africa.
