President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has urged newly sworn-in Cabinet ministers to work with him in rebuilding the nation and addressing the pressing socio-economic challenges facing Malawians.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony held at Sanjika Palace in Blantyre, President Mutharika emphasised that his administration is focused on restoring hope and prosperity to every citizen.

“I envisioned a government that serves Malawians,” said Mutharika. “It is our collective responsibility to ensure that our people feel the impact of development in all sectors, including health, education, and the economy.”
Those sworn in include Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Joseph Mwanamveka; Minister of State, Alfred Gangata; and Minister of Foreign Affairs, George Chaponda. The President said he has confidence in their ability to deliver results and uphold the integrity of public service.

Chief Secretary to the Government, Dr Justin Saidi, and his deputy, Stuart Ligomeka, also took their oaths during the ceremony.
Mutharika, who announced a partial Cabinet on Sunday, said the process of forming a full Cabinet is ongoing, assuring Malawians that competent individuals will be appointed to help realise his vision of a progressive and stable Malawi.
He further reminded the ministers of the need for unity and accountability in their work, urging them to put national interests above personal gains.
“As we move forward, let us remain committed to good governance and transparency. Malawians deserve leaders who will put service before self,” he added.
Observers say the appointments mark a new phase in Mutharika’s leadership as he seeks to strengthen his administration and restore confidence in gove
rnment institutions.
