The 17th African Dairy Conference & Exhibition has officially opened on Wednesday at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC), Nairobi Kenya, bringing together key stakeholders in the dairy sector from across the continent.

The event was presided over by Kenya’s Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Mutahi Kagwe, who delivered a strong message on the importance of quality in Africa’s dairy industry.
“There will be no dairy exports without quality,” Kagwe declared, emphasising that food safety and certification are non-negotiable for Africa to compete in regional and global markets.
Meanwhile, the four-day conference aims to unlock Africa’s dairy potential by exploring opportunities for growth, addressing challenges in production and marketing, and strengthening policy frameworks.
It has drawn participants from the government, private sector, researchers, farmers, and international development partners.
The exhibition segment is showcasing innovations in dairy processing, animal feeds, veterinary solutions, and modern farming technologies, providing a platform for networking, knowledge-sharing, and business deals.
According to the organisers, the forum is expected to chart a roadmap for sustainable dairy development, positioning the sector as a driver of food security, livelihoods, and economic growth across Africa.
