NIGERIA: Police Unmask Killers Of Chinese Worker In Ogun Factory Stabbing
By Onoja Baba, Nigeria
The Nigeria Police Force has arrested two suspects linked to the gruesome murder of a Chinese national, Mr. Chen Wang, following a months-long intelligence-led manhunt across state lines.
Mr. Wang, an employee of WH Great Resource Ltd. in Ogere, Ogun State, was found dead in his office on January 12, 2025, with multiple stab wounds to the chest.
His killing sent shockwaves across the community and drew swift police intervention.
In a statement on Tuesday, Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said operatives cracked the case after unraveling a chilling plot allegedly carried out by two factory workers in a secret relationship.
The suspects, 25-year-old Yunusa Abdullahi from Borno State and 20-year-old Peace Keno Danlami from Taraba State, were said to have taken advantage of reduced staffing during overtime duty.
They allegedly disabled the security system, gained access to Mr. Wang’s office, and fatally stabbed him.
After the murder, the duo reportedly stole the keys to the victim’s residence, burgled it, and fled Ogun State with an undisclosed amount of money.
Their trail went cold until July 14, when police operatives from the Force Headquarters, working with the Ogun State Criminal Investigation Department, tracked them down in Jos, Plateau State.
The suspects were arrested while living under false identities, following intense surveillance involving digital forensics, biometric analysis, and human intelligence.
“The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, commends all officers involved for their professionalism and dedication,” the police said.
The IGP assured the public of the Force’s continued commitment to protecting lives, property, and all residents, including foreign nationals.
The suspects are currently in custody and will be arraigned in court as soon as investigations are concluded.
