The Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ambassador Umar Damagum, on Tuesday led a high-powered delegation to the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Abuja.
The team was received by INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, along with National Commissioners, senior aides, and directors of the Commission.

According to INEC’s official statement posted on its Facebook page, the visit was aimed at addressing pressing internal issues within the PDP that require regulatory clarification from the Commission.
Professor Yakubu, in his opening remarks, reaffirmed INEC’s neutrality and commitment to its constitutional duties.
He said the Commission’s responsibility is to ensure that rules are adhered to in all political engagements.
After the brief opening, the session moved behind closed doors where both parties were expected to seek mutual understanding on the way forward.
