The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has lost his father, Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo.
The Kogi State Government announced that the elder Ododo passed away a few hours ago at the age of 83.
In a statement signed on Monday by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the government said the late Ododo will be laid to rest according to Islamic rites.
The statement prayed for Allah to forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.
The government also prayed for the Governor, his family and the entire Ododo family to be granted the strength to bear the loss.
