NIGERIA: Just In: VDM Faces Court Over Alleged Impersonation, FCT Police Command Leads Prosecution

Mr. Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), is to appear in court today over allegations of impersonation following the release of a viral video in which he is seen wearing a Nigeria Police Force (NPF) uniform without authorization.

The Nigeria Police Force in a post on Friday, said the FCT Police Command is spearheading the prosecution, reinforcing the Police’s dedication to preserving the integrity of its symbols and preventing their misuse.

The police clarified that the case is part of a broader initiative to crack down on unauthorised use of official uniforms and paraphernalia, which they view as a threat to public trust and security.

The force has urged the public to follow the legal proceedings closely as a means of supporting efforts to deter impersonation and protect the integrity of law enforcement.
