The festival, themed “Preserving Culture, Promoting Unity,” is taking place at the Christ Apostolic Grammar School field, drawing participants, tourists, and cultural enthusiasts from within and beyond the state.
Chairman of the organising committee, Taiwo Owokalade, had said the 2026 edition marks a strategic effort to reposition the festival on the global stage.
He noted that the initiative is aimed at showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Iperu-Remo while also driving tourism and correcting historical narratives about the origin of the Eyo tradition.

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, is billed to attend as chief host, alongside other dignitaries.
Organisers also disclosed plans to release a documentary on the festival after the event, as part of efforts to document its history and expand its global reach.
