Social media comedian Carter Efe has defeated street artiste Habeeb ‘Portable’ Badmus in a celebrity boxing match on Friday night, handing Portable his first defeat in the ring.
The bout, which was the main event at the Chaos in the Ring 4 held at the Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, ended in a unanimous decision after three rounds. All three judges scored the fight 30-27 in favour of Carter Efe.
Portable, who had previously defeated Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington to claim two celebrity boxing belts, entered the contest with high confidence, boasting that he would use Efe to win a third title.
However, Efe remained unfazed and delivered a disciplined performance.
From the first round, Portable came out aggressively with his usual wild, swinging punches, but the taller and more composed Efe absorbed the pressure and countered effectively with sharp uppercuts and body shots.
Efe grew stronger in the second and third rounds, landing cleaner combinations while Portable continued to throw erratic punches and clinch frequently.
At the end of the bout, Carter Efe was declared the winner and new celebrity boxing champion.
The victory has been widely celebrated on social media, with Efe earning praise for his tactical approach and composure inside the ring.
This result adds another chapter to the growing popularity of celebrity boxing matches in Nigeria’s ente
