NIGERIA: Bandits Invade Ondo Community, Destroy Houses And Kidnap Pastor’s Nine-Year-Old Son

Bandits have attacked Ugbosi Quarters in Idogun, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, destroying two houses and kidnapping a nine-year-old boy in the early hours of Friday. The armed men invaded the community around 1:30am firing sporadic gunshots to create panic among residents before forcing their way into homes.
The victim Master Olaosebikan Victor also known as Oluwatobi is the son of a pastor in the community Mr Isaac Olaosebikan. The pastor reportedly escaped into the bush to save his life leaving the boy behind who was then whisked away by the assailants. Another resident Mr Joel Owalekan also had his residence damaged during the attack but managed to flee to safety.
The Ondo State Police Command confirmed the incident through its Public Relations Officer DSP Abayomi Jimoh who said an intensive manhunt has been launched for the kidnappers. Personnel of the command and the Amotekun Corps have been mobilised for a coordinated search-and-rescue operation combing surrounding forests and possible escape routes. Investigations have commenced with relevant exhibits recovered to aid in tracking the perpetrators.
- The State Commissioner of Police CP Felix Ohagwu has directed all tactical teams intelligence units and other security assets to intensify efforts for the immediate and unhurt rescue of the boy and the arrest of those responsible. The command is collaborating with other security agencies and local vigilante groups to bring the criminals to justice.
Residents who heard the gunshots fled to neighbouring communities for safety.
