MALAWI: Malawian Bus Involved in Fatal Crash on South Africa’s N1 Highway

A Malawian-registered bus travelling from Malawi to Johannesburg has been involved in a serious road accident on the N1 highway near the Witvlag turn-off outside Makhado in South Africa this evening.
The Limpopo Department of Transport has confirmed that fatalities have been reported, although the exact number of people who have died and those injured is yet to be verified as rescue operations continue at the scene.
Authorities say the highway has been closed in both directions following the crash, resulting in heavy traffic delays in the area.
Emergency and rescue personnel remain on the scene working to assist victims and clear the road as investigations into the cause of the accident c
