The opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has dismissed as false the rumors suggesting that their leader, Peter Mutharika, is unwell.
The party’s senior official, Peter Mukhito, made this clarification following widespread speculation that Mutharika had travelled to South Africa to seek medical treatment.
Mukhito downplayed the claims, stating that Mutharika is not bedridden, nor is he suffering from any health condition that hinders his ability to speak or function.
He further clarified that the DPP leader is currently engaged in discussions with various individuals who support the party, particularly in terms of financial contributions.
