KENYA: Nation Bids Farewell To 16 Utumishi Female Students Killed in Dormitory Inferno

Kenya’s First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto joined grieving families, relatives and hundreds of Kenyans at Gilgil Sub-County Stadium for a national requiem mass in honour of the 16 students who lost their lives in the tragic Utumishi Girls Academy dormitory fire.

The emotional service brought together leaders, parents, and members of the public to pay their final respects to the young learners whose lives were cut short in the May 28 tragedy. Following the requiem mass, families proceeded with individual burial arrangements for their daughters.
