Prince Musibau Adekunle Asafa, the Executive Chairman of Oto-Awori Local Council Development Area in Lagos, has died after a prolonged illness.
His death was confirmed in a statement shared on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Bodunrin Ayodele.
The statement did not reveal the exact date of his passing.
“Oto-Awori Local Council Development Area is in mourning following the passing of its Executive Chairman, Prince Musibau Adekunle Asafa,” the statement read.
It described him as a respected politician, leader, and dedicated public servant who died after battling a long-term illness.
Despite medical efforts, Asafa was unable to recover. His death has left his family, friends, and colleagues in shock.
Tributes are already pouring in from political leaders and community members.
The chairman of Somolu Local Government, Abdul-Hammed Salawu, also offered condolences to the people of Oto-Awori and the APC family.
He expressed sympathy on behalf of the executive, legislature, and management of Somolu.
Asafa was widely known for his commitment to improving the lives of his constituents.
His passing marks a significant loss to grassroots governance in Lagos.
