The Nigeria Police Force has taken to social media to acknowledge the struggles of citizens after a long week while also reminding the public of the shared responsibility in maintaining national security.
In a heartfelt Friday evening post on their official page, the police recognized the challenges Nigerians face daily, from hectic work schedules and school runs to navigating Lagos traffic, enduring Kano’s heat, or braving Port Harcourt’s rains.
The message struck a balance between empathy and a call to action, commending citizens for their resilience while urging continued cooperation in crime prevention.
“You’ve earned this break,” the post read, encouraging Nigerians to rest, connect with loved ones, and treat themselves after a demanding week. However, it also emphasized that safety remains a collective effort, stating, “A safer Nigeria is something we build together.”
The police expressed gratitude to citizens who have aided law enforcement by reporting suspicious activities, describing them as “the real MVPs.”
The post reinforced the force’s popular slogan: “If you see something, say something, and we’ll do something.”
This appeal comes amid ongoing efforts to strengthen community-police relations and improve public trust in security operations.
