Nigeria – DSS Arrests Tailors Allegedly Making Russian Flags for Protesters
By Utebor Paul, Nigeria
The Department of Security Service (DSS) has reportedly arrested several tailors alleged to be making Russian flags for protesters.
This information was disclosed in a statement by the DSS on their social media handle on Monday.
The statement noted that some of the sponsors have also been arrested and that the investigation is ongoing.
“The Service has apprehended some tailors in Kano State responsible for making Russian flags being distributed in the area. Some of their sponsors have also been picked up. Investigation is ongoing,” the statement partly read.
Recall that on the fifth day of the #EndBadGovernance protest, protesters in Kano were seen carrying Russian flags.
The protesters accused President Bola Tinubu of neglecting their concerns.
Consequently, following the violence that erupted in a neighboring state, Kaduna, during the hunger protest on Monday, the state government imposed a 24-hour curfew in the state.
