Chelsea’s resurgence in the Premier League continued on Saturday as the Blues secured a vital 1-0 victory over Everton at Stamford Bridge.
The victory propelled them into the coveted top-four position.
Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson proved the hero of the day, scoring the only goal in the 27th minute after a well-timed assist from Enzo Fernández.
Despite dominating possession and creating several scoring opportunities, Chelsea were unable to extend their lead, relying instead on a disciplined defensive display to see out the narrow win.
The three points lift Chelsea to fourth in the Premier League standings with 60 points from 34 matches, boasting a record of 17 wins, 9 draws, and 8 defeats.
Their goal difference now stands at +19, with 59 goals scored and 40 conceded, as they continue to push for a return to European football next season.
Everton, meanwhile, endured another frustrating outing, unable to find the net despite sporadic spells of pressure.
The Toffees remain trapped in the lower half of the table, their season increasingly marred by inconsistency and missed chances.
At the summit of the league, Liverpool maintain their stronghold with 79 points from 33 matches, while Arsenal sit second with 67 points.
Manchester City occupy third place with 61 points, just one ahead of Chelsea, while Nottingham Forest trail closely in fifth, level on points with Chelsea but behind on goal difference.
