The Adamawa State Police Command has launched a manhunt for the killers of the Late Thomas Godwin alias Zamfara, the Organisation Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hong, Adamawa state.
The people of Hong Local Government Area, woke up on Wednesday morning to the shocking news of Godwin, who was brutally attacked and killed late Tuesday night.
According to a press statement issued by the Adamawa State Police Command spokesman, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, shared with African Culture TV on Wednesday, the PDP chief was attacked by unknown men.
Nguroje said: “Preliminary reports indicate that the victim was attacked by unknown person(s) while returning home. He was reportedly beaten with sticks and clubs, resulting in his death.”
According to the spokesman, the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Dankombo Morris has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police Incharge of Investigation (DC SCID) to carry a full-scale investigation into the incident.
“Team of detectives has been deployed to conduct investigation and ensure that the perpetrators are identified and brought to justice.
“The Command while praying for the departed soul to rest in peace. urges members of the public to give useful information that will aid investigation,” he said.
