NIGERIA: Tinubu Engages US Official In France Over Regional Security, African Economic Cooperation

In a strategic diplomatic engagement held in Paris, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has met with the United States State Department’s Senior Advisor for Africa, Massad Boulos, to discuss pressing regional security concerns and pathways for bolstering economic collaboration across the African continent.
The high-level talks, which took place on Thursday, were disclosed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, via his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday morning.
According to Onanuga, the discussions delved into stabilising the conflict-ridden Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the broader need for a coordinated multinational effort to achieve lasting peace in the region.
“State Department Senior Advisor for Africa Massad Boulos met with President Tinubu on Thursday to discuss regional security including working together with partners to build a durable peace in eastern DRC.
They also discussed expanding opportunities for economic cooperation throughout Africa,” Onanuga stated.
