Nick Mudimba, a journalist with China Global Television Network (CGTN) Africa and a former Kenya Television Network reporter, has passed away after collapsing at his home in Syokimau, Machakos County, on Sunday.
According to his family, Mudimba had been feeling unwell and was diagnosed with high uric acid levels on Saturday.
He was prescribed medication the following day and took it as instructed.
However, before his sudden collapse, he had been in good spirits, even watching the football match between Kenya’s Harambee Stars and Gabon.
Witnesses said he experienced convulsions before passing away. His body has since been taken to a mortuary in Syokimau, awaiting a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death.
Colleagues and friends have expressed their grief, describing him as a hardworking and dedicated journalist whose impact was widely felt. Mudimba had previously worked at KTN and Switch TV before joining CGTN Africa, where he served as a senior reporter in Nairobi.
China Global Television Network (CGTN) Africa confirmed his passing, and tributes have been pouring in from those who knew him.
Mudimba, a father of two, was remembered as a passionate professional and a helpful friend.
