NIGERIA: President Tinubu Swears In Vice Admiral Ibas as Rivers State Sole Administrator

Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has officially sworn in Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (Rtd.) as the Sole Administrator of Rivers State.
The swearing-in ceremony took place on Wednesday at the State House in Abuja, just before 3 pm.
The event was attended by several key officials, including Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi; Principal Private Secretary to the President, Hakeem Muri-Okunola; and Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
This comes after President Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State on Tuesday night, due to the persistent political instability, constitutional violations, and security threats occuring in the area.
As part of this emergency measure, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy Ngozi Odu, and all elected members of the Rivers State House of Assembly have been suspended for an initial six months.
