SOUTH SUDAN: President Salva Kiir Appoints Kachuol Mabil Piok As New Undersecretary Of Ministry Of Education

South Sudanese President Salva Kiir, has appointed Kachuol Mabil Piok as the new Undersecretary for South Sudan’s Ministry of General Education and Instruction.
The announcement was made Thursday evening through a presidential decree, which was broadcast on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC).
Kachuol Mabil Piok holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Juba, a Master’s in International Relations from the University of Nairobi, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Political Science and Public Administration at the University of Nairobi in Kenya.
With over 10 years of experience, Kachuol has worked on research, peacebuilding, and social protection projects for various organizations, including the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS), The Sudd Institute, Horn Economic and Social Policy Institute (HESPI), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
Since 2015, Kachuol has served as a lecturer at the Department of Political Science, School of Social and Economic Studies (SSES) at the University of Juba.
His appointment comes after the promotion of Kuyuk Abol Kuyuk to Minister of General Education and Instruction earlier this week, following the replacement of Awut Deng Acuil.
The Ministry of General Education and Instruction is responsible for overseeing primary and secondary education, as well as the training of teachers, within South Sudan’s Transitional Government of National Unity.
