Kenya National Highways Authority Announces Temporary Closure Of Part Of Uhuru Highway

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has issued a notice regarding a temporary closure of a section of Uhuru Highway for a scheduled event.

The affected stretch, running between University Way and Kenyatta Avenue roundabouts on the Mombasa-bound lane, will be inaccessible on Tuesday, March 4, between 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM to facilitate a World Engineering Day procession.

Motorists heading in that direction have been advised to exit at Boulevard Hotel and take Harry Thuku Road, Moi Avenue, and Kenyatta Avenue before rejoining Uhuru Highway at Kenyatta Avenue roundabout.

Alternatively, drivers may use University Way roundabout, connecting to Nyerere Road, Processional Way, and Kenyatta Avenue to get back onto Uhuru Highway.

KeNHA has urged motorists to exercise caution, adhere to the proposed traffic diversion plan, and cooperate with traffic officers and marshals managing the area.

Additionally, KeNHA has announced a weekend closure of Juja-Gatundu Road from Juja Stage Junction to Gatundu for the installation of a cross culvert.

The road will reopen on Monday, March 3, at 8:00 PM.

During this period, drivers will be diverted at Equity Afia Medical Centre (Juja) and guided through Jomo Kenyatta University Way roundabout to join Thika Superhighway via Mucatha Road.

Motorists using these routes are urged to follow traffic regulations to ensure smooth movement.
